Life Hacks 2

John 6:63 KJV [63] It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

As we learned in the first installment of “Life Hacks”, God’s Word if filled with “hacks” that get the job of living done with ease and efficiency. Living according to God’s Word results in accomplishing things beyond your wildest aspiration! In John 9:1-7, Jesus encounters a man born blind and employs a life hack to restore the man’s sight. John says Jesus used spit mixed with dirt, applied it to the man’s eyes, instructed the man to wash the mixture off with water and the man returned seeing. Let’s look closer at what God accomplished using familiar substances. God took His DNA mixed it with the original substance of man’s creation, dirt, and made new eyes. This was a simple, stunningly obvious outcome in retrospect. Our responsibility is to remember that we are born again of His incorruptible Word and therefore have His DNA in us!

James 1:23-25 KJV [23] For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: [24] For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. [25] But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

The Passion Translation reads in verse 24 “ You perceive how God sees you…and forget your divine origin.” In other words, “I am dirt (Ps.103:14) and when mixed with God’s DNA, “things” and circumstances are reordered, changed and made new around me. They respond to me in absolute obedience and submission. God’s DNA is the catalyst. I know and am confident in the “manner” of man that I am!

Mark 4:37-41 KJV [37] And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. [38] And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? [39] And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. [40] And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? [41] And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, “What manner of man” is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

In Mark 4:37-41, Jesus reveals a couple of life hacks. Jesus demonstrates that you can be restfully confident. In the middle of an indomitable storm, water having filled the boat, Jesus remained sleep on a pillow. You can be in the most intense fear, anxiety, sickness, depression, etc., and remain restfully confident throughout, riding the fierce wind and waves to your destiny. On the other hand, you can stand up and from the depths of your being with Holy Spirit empowered words speak to the situation commanding peace and calm. Thus sailing peacefully toward your expected end. Hallelujah! There are countless “life hacks” in the Bible to make living your best life easy, dynamic and powerful!
